The open system architecture serves to divide the computing power into two independent operating systems. One operating system is responsible for control tasks, the other is an open Windows 10 IoT for your specific software application.

Your advantage: Windows-based applications can be directly executed in the Open System area and communicate with the PLC area via a secure connection. A separate industrial PC is not required
